What is clinical supervision?
Clinical supervision is a specialised form of mentoring and support for counsellors and other professionals, who work in therapeutic based services. Supervision is a requirement for the BACP and NCPS and is part of working to professional standards.
Supervision is a formal process that encourages counsellors to develop their skills and knowledge and protect the welfare of the clients. By ensuring that they are receiving high quality services and that the supervisee is working in a safe and ethical way.
Working with me as your clinical supervisor can be one hour every two weeks or ninety minutes monthly. It is a time where you can talk openly and honestly about the work you do. It’s a space for reflection, discussion, development and sometimes challenge.
Do I work with students?
Yes, I support student counsellors in working towards their hundred hours placement. I usually work with trainees for one hour every two weeks, in line with the BACP guidance.
