Joanne McAlpine Counselling

About Me

I have over thirty years experience of working in a wide range of statutory and voluntary services, such as: NHS, Probation Services, Youth Offending Teams, Social Services, HM Prisons, Sexual Health Services, Parenting education, schools and colleges, national and local charities.

I qualified as a counsellor in 2000. I work with individuals, couples, families, teens, children and young people.

I qualified as a Clinical Supervisor in 2019, I clinically supervise: counsellors, art therapists, play therapists, mental health workers, and people who work in non clinical roles in schools and colleges such as teachers and support workers.

I have twenty years experience of working therapeutically with parents/ carers & children. I can work individually with family members or with the family altogether

On a personal note

Through my own life experiences as a woman, a mother and grandma, I know how difficult life can be at times. I also know that our past experiences or current situations do not define us as people.

I believe counselling can help us to deepen our understanding of ourself and from this we find the answer from within.

In my spare time, I enjoy walking, cycling, kayaking and paddle boarding.

I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapist. My registration number is: 47013
